The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface SR-159 from the Pickens County line to the intersection of SR-171 in Fayette to improve mobility and safety.
The 12.2-mile project is expected to begin Tuesday, Aug. 5 and will continue until mid-fall, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
Whitaker Contracting Corporation was awarded the project at $1.83 million.
