ALDOT brings official state Christmas tree from Fitzpatrick, Ala.

Each year, employees from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) cut down, haul, install and help decorate the official state Christmas tree that sits at the top of the Capitol steps facing Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

ALDOT opened bids today for replacement of the US-43/US-72/Mitchell Boulevard bridge over SR-20 in Florence.

ALDOT opened bids today for replacement of the 88-year-old US-43/US-72/Mitchell Boulevard bridge over SR-20 in Florence.

Of three bidders, contractor Miller & Miller submitted the apparent low bid of $7,247,268. ALDOT anticipated bids between $6.8 and $8.3 million.

Construction to replace the SR-150 bridge over Little Shades Creek is making serious progress.

Work is underway to replace the Little Shades Creek bridge on SR-150 in Jefferson County.

The 58-foot span is located in Bessemer, just west of Hoover.

Built in 1953, it is now classified as functionally obsolete.

ALDOT is replacing the bridge over Little Shades Creek and widening SR-150 from Morgan Road to Shannon Road.
