A project to resurface a portion of Lott Rd (SR-217) from US-45 to Lakeview Ridge Lane south of Georgetown begins today.
The scope of the project includes 12 miles (from mile post 0 to mile post 12.5) of planing, paving, and striping operations. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalk improvements will also be made as part of the project.
Motorists can expect daytime lane closures with flagging operations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with intermittent closures for sidewalk work. The work is not scheduled to take place near school work zones during student arrival and dismissal times.
The sidewalk work is underway, and the milling and paving work began this week. Motorists should follow all traffic control signage and use extra caution and reduced speeds in the work zone.
The $3.8 million dollar project was awarded to Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC and is anticipated to be completed in summer 2024.
