The contractor has resumed work on the I-85 south auxiliary lane project between Chantilly Parkway and Taylor Road in Montgomery after seasonal and weather limitations have been lifted.
The contractor paused work during the winter months due to seasonal and weather limitations that affected the remaining work items.
The barrier wall that was in place to protect workers in the work zone will be removed by Tuesday morning and paving operations will begin soon after.
Once paving is complete, shoulder work, signs, striping, and other minor items will remain until the project is complete.
ALDOT encourages drivers to remain mindful of people and equipment in the work zone for the safety of those working and driving in the area.
