The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface and place new traffic striping on a portion of SR-69 in Jasper from the junction of SR-5 to the north end of Blackwater Creek Bridge to improve mobility and safety.
The 5.7-mile project is expected to begin the week of May 13 and will continue until late summer, weather permitting.
Whitaker Contracting Company was awarded the project at $2.84 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
