Traffic Update: I-65 bridge replacement over Sepulga River near Evergreen, Alabama

Northbound traffic on I-65 in Conecuh County has been shifted onto the newly constructed median roadway and bridges as part of Phase IV of the bridge replacement project over the Sepulga River, located northeast of Evergreen (MP 103.5–106.5).

During this phase of construction, the following changes and guidelines are in effect:

  • Reduced lane widths and a reduced speed limit will continue throughout the work zone.
  • Lane changes are discouraged while traveling through the construction area for safety reasons.
  • Work will focus on the removal of the existing northbound bridges and completion of the new bridges and roadway for the northbound side.
  • Construction for this phase is expected to be completed by the end of November.

Motorists should remain alert for construction trucks and vehicles entering and exiting the roadway at work areas.

Southbound traffic will remain unaffected during this phase, maintaining the current configuration.

Lane closures:

  • Daily closures are permitted Monday through Thursday.
  • On Fridays, closures are allowed until noon.
  • No major lane closures are anticipated.

Please drive with caution and adhere to posted speed limits through the work zone.
