On Thursday, weather permitting, one lane on I-85 South in Macon County over Line Creek will be closed.
Line Creek is approximately two and half miles north of Exit 16 (Waugh/Pike Road), where crews are widening six bridges.
During the daytime lane closure, crews will relocate the temporary barrier rail. At night, they will resume milling and paving operations with evening lane closures.
Northbound lanes will remain open while work is being performed southbound.
Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly due to the lane closure. They should also adhere to the reduced speed limits and be mindful of workers and equipment in the construction zone.
On September 8, similiar work was done for northbound lanes.
