The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is dispatching a third crew to Florida on Saturday to support ongoing hurricane recovery efforts. This 18-person team will replace the ALDOT crew that has been working in Florida for the past week, though three members from the previous crew will remain.
Once in Florida, the new team will join the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at the Manatee Operations Center in Bradenton, Fla. They will then be assigned to areas for debris removal from Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
This will be ALDOT’s third and final deployment to Florida, as FDOT anticipates that additional support crews will not be necessary. The ALDOT team is expected to work in the state for up to 10 days.
