Work began today on a project to improve SR-69 at Sunset Drive in Guntersville.
The $665,454 project with contractor Rogers Group includes construction of a southbound right turn lane on SR-69 and traffic signal upgrades.
ATRIP-II project
Project funding comes from the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program-II (ATRIP-II). The Rebuild Alabama Act of 2019 created ATRIP-II to advance projects of local interest on state routes.
Local sponsor the City of Guntersville proposed the project to improve SR-69 at Sunset Drive and provided matching funds.
Traffic impacts
ALDOT advises motorists to expect closure of the outside southbound lane. Except briefly during final paving, the boat launch will remain accessible.
