The Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on SR-106 in Crenshaw County starts Monday, Jan. 19, weather permitting.

The project will stretch for about 7.7 miles, from Patsaliga Creek Bridge to US-29 in Brantley.  This project begins where the previous SR-106 resurfacing project ended.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and be mindful around workers and equipment.

The approximately $2 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2026.

The contractor began placing signs throughout the project limits on Thursday, Jan. 15, in preparation for the start of the project.
