The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) resurfacing project on SR-134 in Henry County begins Monday, Feb. 9, weather permitting.

The six-mile includes micro-milling, resurfacing, and traffic stripe on SR-134 from the Dale County line to US-431 in Headland.

Motorists should expect lane closures and reduced speed limits throughout the project. ALDOT urges drivers to plan accordingly and be mindful around people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $2 million project was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2026.
