An Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on US-31 in McKenzie begins Tuesday, April 9, weather permitting.
The contractor will resurface US-31 from the Conecuh County line to SR-55.
Lane closures and reduced speed limits are expected throughout the project. Motorists should plan accordingly for delays and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.
The approximately $1 million project was awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, who had the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2024.
