ALDOT resurfacing project on SR-605 has begun

Jul 16

An Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) project on SR-605 west of Dothan is underway.

The project consists of resurfacing, shoulder widening, and guardrail replacement on SR-605 from Fortner Street to US-231.

Preparation work continues and the paving process is scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 21.

Drivers should expect lane closures, reduced speed limit, and evening work throughout the project.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and be mindful of equipment and people in the work zone.

ALDOT awarded the project to APAC-Alabama, Inc., out of Birmingham, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met project requirements, at a cost of approximately $2.9 million.  The project is expected to be completed early 2025.
