Spreading the news about quick clearance laws

In 2022, 75% of crashes that occurred on Alabama’s roadways were property-damage-only crashes. To reduce the impact to traffic flow, Alabama has passed Quick Clearance Laws that are designed to protect ALDOT workers, first responders and to ensure traffic resumes quickly after a crash occurs.

Weather permitting, Sunday, August 18, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the Cleburne welcome center.  During the welcome center closure ALDOT will repair sections of the entrance ramp.

The Auburn University Regional Airport will receive a portion of the airport grants issued by ALDOT.

Crossovers have been constructed for the transition of traffic to and from the southbound I-59 roadway. This crossover will return traffic to the northbound roadway at the south end of the recently-constructed concrete segment.

Another segment of I-59 northbound in DeKalb County will soon close for reconstruction.
