I-22 resurfacing map of Walker County

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is resurfacing a section of I-22 in Walker County from the Marion County line to near Exit 40 north of Eldridge to improve mobility and safety.

The 1.8-mile project began earlier this week and will continue until the end of the year, weather permitting. At least one lane will be open in each direction throughout the duration of the project.

Drivers should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.

Wiregrass Construction Company was awarded the project at $1.52 million.
