ALDOT to resurface portion of Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa County

Skyland Blvd Project Map.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface a stretch of Skyland Boulevard (US-11) from SR-69 to Pleasant Hill Drive in Tuscaloosa.

The 5.24-mile nighttime project will also include left turn lane lengthening and enhancements at Hargrove Road, Palisades Drive and Cypress Creek Avenue.

Work is scheduled to begin Sunday, Sept. 7 and will continue until late spring 2026, weather permitting. Lane closures will not be allowed from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. to reduce the impact on traffic. Additionally, lane closures will not be allowed on Saturdays when the University of Alabama has a home football game.

APAC-Alabama was awarded the project at $6.89 million.

Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
