The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface two roads in Clanton to improve safety and mobility.
The nighttime project includes resurfacing a portion of US-31, from the intersection of Newport Avenue to Inverness Drive, as well as a segment of SR-145, stretching from US-31 to First Street.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 19 and will continue until fall 2025, weather permitting. No lane closures are allowed from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. to reduce the impact on traffic.
Wiregrass Construction Company was awarded the project at $2.04 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
