The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) plans to resurface and perform access management along a stretch of US-82 from near Echola Road to near Buhl Cut-off Road in western Tuscaloosa County to improve mobility and safety.
The 4.79-mile project is scheduled to begin Monday, Dec. 1, and will continue until late summer 2026, weather permitting. Lane closures will not be allowed on eastbound lanes from 6:30 a.m. through 8:30 a.m. to reduce the impact on traffic.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company was awarded the project at $5.3 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
