The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to repair bridge decks and install new guardrail at various locations on Interstate 20/59 eastbound from near milepost 64 to near milepost 72 in Tuscaloosa.
The project is expected to begin Monday, January 8 and will continue until Summer 2024, weather permitting. The contractor must keep at least one lane open at all times and is not allowed to have more than a two-mile lane closure.
Comanche Construction was awarded the project at $4.59 million.
Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits.
