Nightly detours planned for I-565 in Madison next week

Cranes are used to raise and position the massive steel girders that will support the future bridge deck of the westbound off-ramp at I-565 Exit 10.

The next series of bridge girders for the Town Madison Interchange on I-565 will be installed on several nights next week.

I-59 reconstruction near state line to start

Contractor A.G. Peltz is currently working to reconstruct a segment of I-59 northbound just south of the project Wiregrass Construction is slated to begin Monday.

Work will begin Monday on a $41 million project to reconstruct part of I-59 in northeast Alabama.

Though ultimately contractor Wiregrass Construction will remove and replace more than eight miles of the northbound roadway, from Hammondville to the Georgia state line, initial work will focus on rehabilitation of the southbound roadway.

About two miles of US-72/Florence Boulevard is undergoing a $24 million widening project.

I-565 nighttime detours planned for Exit 10 work

Motorists on I-565 westbound will take Exit 13 to Madison Boulevard, turn south on Wall Triana Highway, then return to I-565 at Exit 9.

As work continues on the Town Madison Interchange on I-565 in Madison, drivers should expect nighttime detours for setting bridge girders over the interstate during the next two to three months. SR-77 rail crossing in Attalla to close for repairs
